NJ Jazz Society

The NJ Jazz Society has been incorporated since 1972. It is a NJ Registered Charitable Organization and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The Society produces concerts, PeeWee Stomp in March in Whippany, NJ and JazzFest in June at Drew U/Madison, NJ. Other activities include monthly members meetings at Trumpets, Montclair; a movie series in Chatham Library; JERSEY JAZZ magazine is a monthly publication for members. The Society has an educational outreach program, Generations of Jazz led by Pam Purvis. The organization maintains an annuity at Rutgers U/New Brunswick for jazz majors. Also, the Society awards financial scholarships to jazz majors in NJ Colleges at its Stomp every year
