Offlines Project Feat Guy Mintus And Yinon Muallem

“Off Lines” is a refreshing and unique duo collaboration between brilliant young jazz pianist Guy Mintus and renowned composer, percussionist, oudist & vocalist Yinon Muallem. Yinon is an israeli musician who has made his home base in Istanbul, Turkey, living there for the past 12 years. In Turkey,Yinon has so far released 6 albums being highly acclaimed for reviving ancient turkish musical forms while combining it with Jewish music elements. Through his music, Yinon is creating cultural bridges between Israel and Turkey; he constantly brings together musicians from the two countries and has served for two years as the Cultural Attaché of the Israeli embassy in Turkey. Guy, is an upcoming Israeli pianist, improviser and composer based in New York City. In his own unique style, Guy marriages his love for music of the middle-east with american jazz. At the young age of 22, Guy is privileged to share his music performing extensively, throughout the states and abroad while being able to share the stage with masters of several musical traditions.

The “Off Lines” project is about those connective bridges. Bridges between two generations, two countries, two cultures. In order to describe our music, one might mention an array of styles ranging from jazz, rock and film music to Turkish, Jewish and Indian music, improvisational music. But what it really is, is neither of these. This music is really something in between – “off the lines”. Music that one must hear in order to understand, that doesn’t come from just one place but from everywhere all at once. Yinon and Guy are truly excited to continue the journey of sharing this music with the world, as they hope that what comes from the heart goes directly into it.
