Robbie Rose

Pianist Robbie Rose was born in Michigan. A child prodigy, Rose began composing original tunes at age 13. He attended the legendary music and art High School Community High in Ann Arbor and honed his jazz skills working with the great Detroit players of the 1970s.

From 1980-82 Rose attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, studying with Fred Hersch, Tom McKinnley, and Miroslav Vitous.

Rose has appeared with Cab Calloway, Gil Evans, George Russel, The Rascals, Kenny Garrett, Jerry Bergonzi and David Mann, among others. He composed and recorded many commercial jingles and TV themes, including the theme for “Zoo Life Magazine” which is still airing in Europe.

Rose has lived and worked in New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris, and now resides in Sarasota, FL with his wife and son.
