Mathieu de Wit

Mathieu De Wit began the classical piano at the age of 6. He also started playing guitar and drums as a teenager. At 18 he returned to JazzStudio where he followed 2 years of jazz training with pianists Ewout Pierreux and Jeremy Calbert. He will also follow the courses of Herman Pardon, Bas Coijmans or Marek Patrman.

He then returned to the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels in the class of Diederik Wissels. He finished his bachelor's degree there before going to do his Master's degree at the Lemmens Instituut in Leuven in the class of Ron Van Rossum.

During his studies, Mathieu took courses and masterclasses from several renowned professors such as Peter Hertmans, Frank Vagané, Natalie Loriers, Jeroen Van Herzeele.

He also participates in several internships with, among others, Erik Vermeulen, Jean Louis Rassinfosse, Ivan Paduart, Bo Van der Werf... Since the beginning of his career Mathieu has participated in many musical projects: Oscar Trio and Quintet, Symmetrio, Radicant, Julien Fraipont Quintet, Belch Quartet, Sack O'Woe as well as numerous performances as a freelance pianist.
