My teaching style is all about learnign how-to Master The Art of Drumming. I teach all levels from beginner, intermediate to advanced. Drumming should be about making music and creative expression. I am not the kind of instructor that is going to push you through a predetermined series of drum books. Paul Wertico, of Pat Metheny fame, was once asked..."Paul - how did you develop your drumming skills?" The interviewer was anticipating a very heady technical explanation. Paul simply stated..."I listened to a lot of great drummers and drummed along to an endless number of records." I loved Paul's response.

You will learn: the Essential Drum Rudiments, time keeping techniques, drum music reading/notation, soloing techniques, linear drumming techniques, jazz perpetual groove, ostinatos, how-to play odd times, polyrhythm's and much more...DOUBLE BASS TECHNIQUES TOO!
I teach the following styles: jazz, rock, blues, funk, reggae, fusion, R&B, Latin and more. You will find that my teaching style is inspiring and truly GREAT FUN. You will Learn how the great drummers play like: Buddy Rich, Jon Bonham, Neal Peart, Terry Bozzio, Tony Williams and others.
Many of my students have gone on to study at Berklee, teach and gig as professional musicians. I am a CERTIFIED MEMBER OF THE VIC FIRTH EDUCATION TEAM AND PERCUSSIVE ARTS SOCIETY.
