THe selections above do not include specific information. I am currently involved in modern music improvisation and I am playing the Drums in this genre at present. I am also very experienced and to spot work in straight ahead Jazz, funk, New Orleans Jazz and R&B and practically any genre that has a gig opening and have over the years worked in most all genres both on Drums and Percussion where my own personal favorite Vibraphone is what I call my true instrument.
I teach Drums, Percussion, Music Theory (traditional and conceptual) Vibraphone as well as composition, songwriting (more musical and you are responsible for text but I help put them together with music) as well as Improvisation both Functional and conceptual.

That site also contains my Blog which is a new addition and is at present focusing on music theory from a conceptual level stating with the five basic concepts that can be used to describe and must be present in all quality music or any and all genres and it is presented in non technical language so that anyone who is interested can communicate with schooled musicians in a way that all can understand and relate to as they listen and talk about what they are hearing in the music.. This is a progressive series that will over time expand these elementary concepts into a full understanding of music and will allow the newbie to music and theory to learn in conceptual detail what is going on in the music that they like and enjoy.
Along with the music, critical thinking skills will be expanded as I revisit each concept and go into more detail and introduce how critical thinking can help the composer or improviser to keep his music on an artistic level and open up a path to setting parameters for composing and improvising in the conceptual tradition of Bill Evans and others both in Jazz and Classical Music improvisations.
Yes, that is a mouthful but take a peek! The world of music is open to you and we are all able to conceptualize music and learn as much or as little academic skills as we want but still understand what is going on and if so desired, we can learn how to create music of our own if we so desire.
