Kayamar

Kayamar - Viktor Magyaróvári - was born in 1985 in a small town in Hungary, called Mez�'hegyes. His musical talent started showing in his early age, as he attended special classes of solfege and harmony theory. At the age of 13 he arrived to Budapest to the Béla Bartók Conservatory where he became the student of Gábor Ugrin - the famous conductor. His road lead him srtaight to the Franz Liszt University of Music to study as a choir conductor. In his free time he engaged in singing - at the Conservatory he attended vocal training by Gábor Jelenik since he was 20 years old - and writing music. He composed his 1st CD in 2005 in a group called "The Elements" which remains unpublished to this day. The group later split up, which left him with a lot of sleepless nights, but also gave birth to his alterego Kayamar Vorti Virgo (an anagramm of his name). This marked the beginning of a long creative process: he wrote a book to which he also composed its own music. He came up with his own "language" for the lyrics ("a language which I built into my songs: it has an emotional meaning"). The result of this was two also unpublished albums (2007;2008) about the adventures of Kayamar Vorti Virgo. Since 2008 he has been working on rewriting and reharmonizing popular tunes with Anna Molnár with whom he also has an unpublished double CD selection. Kayamar is often requested for assignments in orchestrating and composing. At his first competition that he entered (Telekom's "Rezene" competition in 2011) he won the 1st prize. He mostly likes to do concerts solo, singing his Bobby McFerrine-like 2-4 part pieces. He is looking for challenges as a performer, like improvising to the echo of his own voice - he usually surprises his audience with the most unexpected ideas. Currently he is working on the 3rd Kayamar Vorti Virgo album which will be complete for the summer of 2012.
