Juan Castañon

Monterrey Mexico born guitarist / improviser. One of the most active musicians of the Mexico’s improvised music scene. He studied Mexican folk music and played accordion while young, learning theory and jazz guitar under Mexican local teacher and took workshops occasionally, moved in Italy 2003 and study music at Rome University and collaborate in diverse improvised music formations, and making music for silent movies, dance and performance.

Co founder of the IMPROMUZAK COLLECTIVE with sopranist Bruno Angeloni. Has collaborate with Marco Colonna, Dennis Gonzalez, Chris Coughburn, Alexander Bruck, Wilfirdo Terrazas, Milo Tamez and others…
