Jarred Antonacci
An active recording artist and commercial musician as well, Jarred regularly performs in both local theaters and off-Broadway touring shows in the greater Philadelphia/Delaware region. He has performed with a wide array of notable artists including appearances with Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Wayne Newton and The Temptations. Jarred’s additional recording credits include a multitude of singer/songwriter projects, an album for R&B artist R. Kelly and the 2009 Naxos release of Paul Salerni’s award-winning one-act opera, Tony Caruso’s Final Broadcast, for which Antonacci was principal trombone. Active on the jazz scene as well, Jarred performs regularly and has recorded as a sideman with Norman David and The Eleventet; a Philadelphia–based ensemble featuring the city’s top jazz musicians and legendary artists including Dick Oatts, George Garzone and Tim Hagans. In addition to commercial work he continues to be an active member in a multitude of other Philadelphia jazz and world music ensembles, including the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia, Earl Phillips Big Band, John Vanore & The Abstract Truth, Philly Big Band and Alô Brasil.
An advocate for new music and soloist, Antonacci began commissioning new works for trombone in 2008: Concert Piece for trombone and piano (Lars Halle), Bomb Bomb for trombone and piano (David Thomas), Sliding Phases for unaccompanied trombone and Recitation/Exploration for trombone and piano (Norman David). Winning the Boyer College of Music concerto competition in 2010, Jarred was a featured soloist with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra, playing the the Nino Rota Trombone Concerto. Most recently, he was featured in recital at Immaculata University as well as a lecture recital at Camden County College. Jarred holds a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from Temple University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from The University of the Arts.
