Jakobs Castle

The new project of late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob Nowell, Jakobs Castle is the sound of two worlds colliding in perfect union. The Castle aims to connect the insouciant sounds of California’s past with the fresh mystery of internet underground culture. Imagine laying face up on the beach as waves of retro synth melodies wash over you like static, your body slowly dried by the heat of the emerging sun and skank guitars. Jakobs Castle is old meets new. Beach meets internet. 90’s Underground meets Hyperpop. It is a sound that is both pretty and gritty.

Active since 2022, the band consists of vocalist/frontman Jakob Nowell (formely of LAW), guitarist Eric Walsh (formerly of Authority Zero), and drummer Chris Bartholomew (formerly of As Blood Runs Black). The Castle has toured the country with emerging young artists such as Sitting on Stacy, as well as legacy musicians like Jason Devore and Slightly Stoopid. As of 2023, Jakobs Castle is an officially signed Epitaph band, with plans to release new music through the label in the coming months along with numerous tours in the works.

With the burden of purpose and expectation held proudly, Jakobs Castle seeks to break all convention and usher in a new era of California Music.
