Geraldine Tyrance
parents of two, Chinita and Patrick, Jr. and the blessed
grandparents of four beautiful grandchildren. Patrick, Jr. is a
previous Husker football player and was inducted into the
Nebraska and the Millard Hall of Fame; he was also recently
inducted into the Academic All-American Hall of Fame.
Chinita has a very successful career in the banking industry
where she started from the ground level and has worked her
way up into upper level management.
At the age of five, Geraldine began studying private piano;
instead of playing outside, she loved to practice the piano. By
age 13, Geraldine acquired her first job as a church pianist.
She earned two degrees by working as a graduate assistant
and accompanist at Morgan State and also undergraduate
assistant and accompanist at Elizabeth City State University
and graduate University. Upon receiving her undergraduate
degree, Geraldine became a Music Supervisor for three
schools in North Carolina. She later organized the Vaughan-
Huber Cultural Arts Program in Baltimore, MD and was
accompanist for the Baltimore Symphony Chorus until
resigning from the position. Geraldine was accompanist for
Trinity Interdenominational Church for approximately four
years and has been Guest Pianist for Christ Community
Church for four of the five years since it’s inception, Whole
Women’s Day Event. Geraldine teaches private piano
lessons and has taught seven different nationalities in her
private studio, many of whom have become excellent
musicians and music instructors themselves. She has a
Masters Degree in Music Education and is a Nationally
Certified Piano Teacher.
