Gary Braith is a self educated guitarist of jazz and composer. He plays initially blues, rock'n roll in various groups then he studied jazz and improvisation with the « Orléans Academy of Jazz ». He prefers to explore a quiet, expressive approach to the guitare over irrelevant technical flourisches and creates a distinctive set of musical moods maintaining an overriding medidative quality. He wants to put emphases on musical storytelling. He integrates into his compositions, influences coming from traditionnel music of the world (fado from Portugal, arabe and persian music, voodoo and african rythms...) but also contemporary classical music. They give him an original style where emotions, colors, melodies, honesty and artistic integrity have a great place. « His music is a beautiful collection of inspired guitar explorations in the tradition of John Abercrombie, Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. Braith will appeal to fans of contemporary jazz who are willling to take a chance on an artist with overwhelming talent and fresh ideas... » - John Barron for « Jazz rewiew »
