Eva Simontacchi

va Simontacchi studied music and voice at the NAM in Milano, and at the SMUM in Lugano (Switzerland) with Anna Bakja. She is a Vocal Power Academy certified instructor. Her training includes Master Classes, workshops seminars and conferences held by some of the most reknown singers or voice experts such as Maria Pia De Vito, Laura Fedele, Michele Hendricks, Prof. Franco Fussi, Phil Minton, and many others. Among the educators with whom she studied during Master Classes or Courses are: Elisabeth Howard (Vocal Power Academy, L.A.), Mary Setrakian (Black Nexxus, N.Y. and L.A.), jazz legend Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton. Se also studied stage behaviour ortophony and phoneticsand diction, and she studied classical piano with Dorothy Mae Charles and Irma Pandolfi. Eva writes songs and lyrics in English, and is a S.I.A.E. member. As far as her blues and gospel training is concerned, she had the great opportunity to absorb and learn a lot from Italian blues singer Angela Baggi, with whom she collaborated for years singing all the background vocals in her U.G.P. Project. She has been the vocalist of the Enos Patracchini Big Band for seven years, until the Maestro passed away a few years ago. Eva Simontacchi is the leader of the "4 Heaven & More" vocal sextet (which is accompanied by piano or by a trio). "4 Heaven & More" perform gospel music, jazz standards and pop evergreens with original arrangements. Their single "Oh Happy Day!" (Ar2rec) has been broadcasted by some of the most prestigious radios in Italy - Radio Monte Carlo, RTL, Studio 105, etc. The new album of "4 Heaven & More", "Our Christmas Songs" will be issued by Ar2rec around the month of September 2007. Eva Simontacchi is head of the Voice Courses at the Accademia Vivaldi in Bollate, Milan. She organizes workshops, seminars, Master Classes and conferences and you can find out what's going on by visiting her official website. Eva personally holds Master Classes of Vocal Technique, of American English Diction for Italian Singers, Workshops of Stage Behaviour and many others. She mostly sings jazz, acoustic, or with a trio or quartet whan she's not singing with her Big Band. Eva Simontacchi writes interviews and reviews which are regularly published on-line by Jazzitalia.
