Eoin O’Mara

Eoin O’Mara is a guitarist and composer based in New York City. He began his musical career through New York City Guitar School at age 14 in a week-long beginners boot camp. From there, he continued playing and practicing classic rock and funk through the weekend and summer rock band programs at NYC Guitar School. In high school, he performed at many prestigious venues such as The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and Radio City Music Hall. At Beacon High School’s music department, he was a teaching assistant in the audio engineering elective, and taught a band of underclassmen while also playing and performing in many school ensembles.

When Eoin heard Wes Montgomery for the first time, he fell in love with jazz, and was accepted to the jazz program at William Paterson University. There, he’s studied and performed with jazz greats such as Bill Charlap, Gene Bertoncini, Russell Malone, Steve LaSpina, Kevin Norton, and many others. He has played at well-known venues like Dizzy’s and Birdland, and regularly plays at restaurants and cafes around the New York/New Jersey area. He is also working on his own musical projects, playing in a rock band and a jazz collective, with which he composes, performs, and releases music.

Eoin is very excited to return to New York City Guitar School as a teacher, and hopes to bring to his students his passion, open-mindedness, and wide musical experiences.
