Benthos

Benthos are an experimental progressive metal band from Milan, Italy. Blending elements of prog, mathcore, post-hardcore, and psychedelia, they forge a sound where precision collides with unpredictability, and melody spirals into madness. For those who crave music that's heavy and unhinged yet dreamlike, melodic, and jazz-infused, Benthos deliver a relentless sonic experience, always pushing into uncharted territory.

On stage, Benthos have rapidly built a reputation as one of the most exciting new live acts in modern prog. A powerful and technically outstanding live presence has since become their calling card, amplified further when supporting Between The Buried And Me on their 2025 summer tour. Their explosive debut at Euroblast Festival 2025 confirmed them as a breakthrough act to watch, cementing their place among the most compelling young bands in the progressive scene.

Benthos' 2021 debut II introduced their adventurous and alluring blend of chaotic catharsis, while their sophomore album From Nothing (Inside Out Music, 2025) delivered a bold, genre-defying statement praised by press worldwide (listed in Loudwire's 2025 Top 11 Prog Metal Albums), positioning them as one of the most innovative forces in modern progressive music.

“Sophisticated, unconventional, bold” – Metal Hammer “Experimental metal of the highest order” – Kerrang! Radio “Utterly brilliant and utterly mental” – GBHBL “Unlike anything else you'll hear this year” – The Prog Report
