Born in Philadelphia, never left. Started, professionally, producing Jazz shows in what I call the northwest section of the City, in addition to the singing career, in 2013. Professional debut at La Rose Jazz Cafe in 2013. Retired from the position of Special Deputy Personnel Director for the City of Philadelphia's Central Personnel Department in 2003. I'm a Great American Songbook aficionado; I prefer singing the songs from the 20s, 30s and 40s by such composers Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Rogers and Hart, Gershwin and other noted great composers from that era. Currently, I have two monthly gigs at The Platinum Grille in Chestnut Hill, and I am expanding my producing ventures into other venues in the City's Great Northwest. Future producing ventures include another Maplewood Mall production, Jazz in the Upper Room in October 2017, Summit Park East Clubhouse in Roxborough, September 8, 2017 and A's Place September 30, 2017
I've appeared in several other venues in Germantown and Mt Airy: 7165, North by Northwest, Alma Mater, October Gallery, La Rose Jazz Cafe and Maplewood Mall, all of which were my production projects. I have appeared as guest vocalist with pianist, Sam Lackey at 7165, pianist Tom Smith at La Rose and in a Canada Brown production at La Rose, entitled, Sweet Rapport that included a Josephine Baker soliloquy, performed by Ms Brown.
Currently, I am scheduled to appear in May 2017 and September 2017 in a Pig Iron Theater Company production, entitled A Period of Animate Existence, composed by Troy Herion and Dan Rothenberg, Director.
