Martin Wyss, swiss doublebass player and educator
Martin Wyss was brought up in the Swiss mountains, in a village called Arosa. He later went to Basel to study jazz on doublebass with Baenz Oester. He was also always interested in classical studies and studied with Harald Friedrich from the “Tonhalle Orchester” in Zurich. Now he's mainly playing jazz, classical music and some free stuff 'round Switzerland, Germany and Austria. www.martin-wyss.com

Jazz allows me to express my individuality, my spontaneous feelings and at the same time forces me to constantly expand the bounderies of my technical and traditional knowledge.
That is, what makes jazz for me such a challenging, beautiful and a very complete artform. (and also sometimes frustrating, let's be honest!)
