My Jazz Story
I love jazz because I've played it and studied it for years and with some real greats: Ira, Marian McP. James Drew, Rich Mattesson, Bill Prince, Gerry Tyree, others. I was first exposed to jazz from musician friends of my mother I first listened to Bill Evans in Europe during the Viet Nam era and have never stopped listening and learning. The best show I ever attended - Bill Evans performances The first jazz record I bought was Henry Mancini, Peter Gunn. My advice to new listeners - don't try to make a living doing it - you won't. Keep doing it - it will reward you forever.
