About Me
Wendy Ross, a University of Maryland Journalism graduate, started writing for jazz newsletters in the mid-eighties. She has worked in public media for over twenty years.
Wendy Ross has a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has written for jazz newsletters and online for Jazz Review.com. Her most intense listening experience was Grover Washington Jr.'s Winelight in a sound production studio at the University. The speakers and acoustics were fabulous and it was the first time she heard the rain in “Just the Two Us”, on an album she had listened to for years. Wendy's first jazz interview was with Les McCann in the mid- eighties when he visited the Duke Ellington School for the Arts in Washington D.C. Her favorite concert experience is an outdoor jazz festival near water or on the beach. Her early introductions to music include learning to play violin in Elementary, guitar in Jr. High, and piano in Sr. High.
