About Me
The name Vassil Petrov has long been a synonym of professionalism, commanding stage presence and refinement. A graduate of the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music, Vassil Petrov has a huge repertoire of standard and cover versions, pop and jazz.
He has released a number of successful albums, including Vassil Petrov Sings Gershwin (1999), Something Different (1997), Duet with Roumen Toskov (1995), Petrov Sings Parmakov (1995), The Other (1994), Vassil Petrov – Jazz & Blues (1994). He is busy working, playing different stages – from clubs and piano bars, to prestigious concert venues and festivals. He has given guest performances in Sweden, Finland, the countries of former Yugoslavia, Norway and the USA, among others.
Works with the best known Bulgarian jazz performers and composers – Roumen Toskov, Vassil Parmakov and Ventseslav Mihailov, the Acoustic Version formation and the Big Band of Vili Kazasian. Has had joint projects with opera singer Christina Angelakova, American jazzmen Dan Moretti and Phil Provenzano, and many others.
News: The jazz singer Vassil Petrov was awarded the 2011 Apollonia Festival of Arts annual prize for exceptional contribution to Bulgarian culture and achievements abroad.
The singer was presented the Apollo Toxophoros statuette by Apollonia festival artistic director Margarita Dimitrova at the opening ceremony in the Bulgarian town of Sozopol
