About Me
Titus Maz is a London UK based guitarist, composer and producer.
Titus started playing classical guitar at an early age and it wasn't long before he discovered the electric guitar, Throughout the years he always had great deal of satisfaction in developing both his acoustic fingerpicking playing on the acoustic guitar and delving into electric guitar styles, combining the study of Jazz, Blues and Rock. Active on stage since 1994 joining local bands and attending small festivals first in Italy and Europe, He had trips to USA from 1996 to 2015 to attend courses and seminars at MI and for recording studio/live collaborations.
Titus Maz Quartet / Trio, comprises some of the most exciting and established musicians based in London.
Led by guitarist and composer Titus Maz, the members of this group see Jazz as a big inspiration shining its light into a prism dispersing into fusion, latin, world, r&b and more tangents.
Improvisation is the key while keeping the interplay and groove flowing.
During his years in North East of Italy, He had the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of Blues and Jazz at CAMM and got involved in some interesting bands touring too ( Talkin'Acid , Funk project etc. ). In London he has committed himself to deepen the study of Jazz, Composition, Performance and Production at LCCM Uni ( University of Middlesex / Open University ) , achieving a BA (with Honours).
London gave him the chance to do workshops masterclasses and courses with Pianist Barry Harris, Guthrie Govan, Peter Bernstein, Mike Stern, and more.
Aside from his main music bachelor he also attended a Jazz Ensemble course at Morley University and a couple of different Pro Tools based sound engineering courses.
Titus also successfully completed a Jazz Improvisation course at Berklee online, mastered by renowned pianist Gary Burton.

Subject to Change is a track that originated during some jam sessions that he is hosting in London.. from some “ Sus” harmony down to a groove with a signature ending. The other tracks might be seen as Jazz oriented with a prog/fusion twist. The album has been fully recorded in London and the production features some UK and international guests.
Lastly the single covers are going to be one of the first experiments of AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) generated artwork. Each painting has been automatically generated via an AI software( www.midjourney.com ) using a song description and allowing several reshaping iterations that have deformed the initial ideas. From the most classic looking and colourful paintings for Subject to Change and Electric Wok to the most enigmatic one for “ Silent letter to chordie “ reflecting the song darker mood.
Titus Maz Quartet usually brings a mix of originals and Jazz classics to any of his shows ranging from Miles and Bill Evans influences down to Herbie.. George Duke and more contemporary neosoul / funk vibes.
