About Me

Singer, songwriter and leader of my own band; playwright, poet, author, speaker, activist, educator, social entrepreneur/owner/CEO of Creative Concepts Systems (1985) which includes WomenWorldCulture (2013), International Association for Women of Color Day (1999) and The Jazz Generation band. (2003) B.A, education & English; M.A, English/Creative Writing; ABD for doctorates in adult education and educational leadership & change. Fluent: Spanish; studied French, Latin, Hawaiian and American Sign Language. Career includes education administration (Affirmative Action Officer, Penn State & U of Nevada Reno); teacher, specialist in civil rights, women's issues, Multi- Cultural Center Director, California State U, Sacramento and Science Supportive Services Director, Washington State U, Pullman). Work includes community development and teaching English/ESL to K-12, university and adult students. Former Philadelphia Police Woman. Active in literary, musical, dance and theater arts; recorded 11 CDs and written 2 stage show and 4 books, including The Constructive Extermination of Women of Color: Consequences of Perpetual Socio- Economic Marginalization. Collaborates widely, including with Afro Uruguayans in education and Candombe presentations. Travels: Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Kenya, Libya, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom (England), Uruguay and Venezuela.
