My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it is a universal language across all nations. I was first exposed to jazz in college in the 1950s. I met Eubie Blake in a show at the Toronto Ragtime Society. The best show I ever attended wasthe Hall Bros JB with Butch Thompson (when he was just a kid)in Mendota. The first jazz record I bought was Turk Murphy:Jazz at the Roundtable... My advice to new listeners is to attend live events and support the bands' sales of CDs. Introduce friends to hear bands you like. Or whatever else you have in mind.
