Listening for music that captures the elusive "vibratory hum of existence, the strumming of the universal lyre"
Scott's first serious musical interest was 1970's-era Genesis (and prog rock in general), which he discovered during his high school years. He first dove into jazz while in college at the University of Georgia. His first loves were Miles, then Coltrane, then Mingus. Since then, his musical interests have ranged far and wide, in both jazz and other genres, from Charles Ives to Bobby Hutcherson to Richard Thompson. Twenty-some-odd years into his love affair with music, jazz is still “home base” -- and it gives him the greatest day-in, day-out musical pleasure. The only things in this world that make Scott happier than music are his wife, Lynet, and his four children.
