My Jazz Story
I love jazz because...
it is heart and head, past and future, predictable and spontaneous
I was first exposed to jazz...
at home, with friends, in my teens
I met ...
John Scofield, Mike Stern, Michael Brecker, lots of UK players
The first jazz record I bought was...
Miles Davis - Decoy
My advice to new listeners...
Don't get trapped by a narrow definition of jazz. Go with what you
love - you can find funky, global, electronic or any style of jazz.
It's the chance to improvise that makes the music different, and each
track unique because by design it will never be the same again.
Or whatever else you have in mind.
