About Me

I was born in Rabat, Morocco and grew up in Fez. At the age of 24, I moved to Casablanca where I currently live. I was raised in a family where music is usually served with food. At the age of five, I discovered Miles Davis. I couldn’t decipher much of what he played but still I enjoyed the noise. Years later, I took time to appreciate his music attentively and found out to my surprise that my life would be forever bound to Jazz. At my place, traditionally TV is always turned mute but jazz music is played full blast. 70% of my time is dedicated to listening to music while the rest is not important to tell. Outside jazz home feelings I lead four different lives. I’m a Logistics Manager, Teacher of English at the American Language Center of Mohammedia, Concert Photographer and thanks to AAJ, Jazz journalist. I discovered AllAboutJazz in 2010, while surfing the net. I was amazed at the quality of articles published. I tried my luck and submitted an article that was published days later. From that day on, I knew that if jazz were a religion, the monastery would be allaboutjazz. Writing live reviews for AAJ has allowed me to get press credentials at jazz concerts all throughout Morocco. I was at the same time, glad to publicize AAJ to organizers, producers, and journalists. At the outset of Jazznearyou, I was glad to see Casablanca on the top list of the first twenty cities in the world to have a local JNY website, of which I’m the administrator.
