Since 2012, Matt Hutchison has written about and promoted independent underground music and its associated culture. He works with domestic and international press outlets, building the profiles of independent music companies/artists, creating and managing album/tour press campaigns, and copywriting for social media content.

His education stems from a degree at CSUN and night classes at The Writing Pad program in Los Angeles. His writing is featured in various music publications, with his latest piece. here. For live coverage, he works with music/landscape photographer Brendon Crigler

In 2021, he released his first book, Snap, which can be found through Amazon. A follow up book is in the works.
