My Jazz Story

I was first exposed to jazz when I was 13 or so when my "Hip" Uncle Harry gave me an LP of Pete Fountains' 1963 album "Plenty of Pete" on the Coral Records label. A few years later, I remember standing outside of Birdland listening to Gene Krupa. In the early '90s I created an award winning jazz music video with my late friend John Krasnow the baritone saxophone player and founder of the jazz band Ululation. Born in 1948. John died in 1991, three years after his first LP came out. Currently I host my own podcast "Mister Radio" which has included interviews with several jazz artists including Anthony Scally, Eric Goletz, Peter Furlan, Paul Ostermayer and the late dj and jazz historian Phil Schaap.
