“Louise Alexandra has arrived on the scene with fresh original songs and a unique voice.” — James Gavin, music biographer and author of Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horne Louise Alexandra is a Dutch–American jazz vocalist, lyricist, and storyteller with a warm, expressive sound and a deep love for the jazz tradition. She moves fluently between standards and originals, bringing a contemporary sensibility to classic material. She has released two albums to date, Destiny (2012) and Today (2020), the latter co-produced with her mentor Rebecca Parris. Now based again in the Netherlands, Louise is completing her third album, Crazy World of Love, scheduled for release in 2026. This deeply personal project began with the guidance of Ineke Heiliger, a Dutch vocal jazz educator, connoisseur and program maker who helped connect her to the Dutch jazz scene. On Crazy World of Love, Louise creatively blends originals, reimagined standards, and newly written vocaleses. Working with collaborators from the Dutch and international jazz scenes, her music explores themes of love, time, memory, and connection—personal in perspective, yet universally resonant. By day, Louise -with a PhD in Cancer Biology- works as a translational cancer research scientist. This dual life infuses her music with curiosity, depth, and humanity. Whether on stage or in the studio, she is drawn to songs that tell a story and to performances that feel honest, intimate, and alive. The singer and the scientist you meet face-to-face is the same person you encounter on stage and will draw you in with her tender, passionate lyrics.
