7 Ways Writing Can Make You a More Tolerant and Mindful Person
About Me
Why Is Writing So Important in Nowadays Life?
We are living in an era of technology, fast-food, and fast-life. Time seems to be
becoming more and more valuable and we tend to find less and less of it for the
things that once mattered. Sometimes, it is almost impossible to come home
after 9 hours of work, cook, prepare for the day to follow, and still find some time
to do some of the things that you like or that help you keep your mindfulness. It
has become indeed a battle of what others would like you to do versus what you
would like to do, and you are stuck in the middle, not always knowing what to do.
Because of the lack of time to stop and reflect on certain things in your life, your
true self is constantly covered in layers of the self you need to present to society,
be it work, friends, family, and so on. However, unwrapping your true self out of
all those extra layers does require time and energy and most of all, it requires for
you to be a mindful person.
Writing in a Technological Era
How do you become a mindful person? Is it something that you acquire at a
certain age or is it something that you learn on the way? If this is not inherent, as
a trait which has been cultivated from childhood, there are several ways in which
you can become a mindful person – a person able to have an open mind and grow
that potential through various activities. One of them is writing.
Pros and Cons of Writing
Writing can be misunderstood nowadays since technology has developed so much
that a simple pen and paper might seem old-fashioned. Moreover, whenever we
are using those just to write a shopping list or an address because we don’t have
our phone at hand, we feel that they are slowing us down. And it is true, typing
on a computer or laptop is indeed faster than using a pen, not to mention the
further process of saving or sharing it with your friends and family.
Nowadays, the only rare occasions we are using a pen and paper to write with are
mostly celebrations or anniversaries when we prefer sending a congratulations
card rather than an online message.
