My Jazz Story

I was born in Vancouver into a musical family where jazz was played every day. I grew up hearing Mahalia Jackson and Louis Armstrong on the record player, and my parents had jam sessions in the living room. My dad gave me a trumpet at age 7, and I never questioned it from that day on that I would play the horn. I grew up with my horn, and took it everywhere I went, it was my passport through all my changes, and still is to this day. Wherever I travel, I play my horn everywhere, and it connects me to the world and everybody in it. It's how I communicate best, and believe it's my true purpose in life. xoxo Leif
