I love jazz because...it's soothing. I was always angry and bitter growing up because my father was angry and bitter towards my siblings and I. I was the youngest so I lived with him longer and I got the worst of him. Someone gave me a cassette tape and I listened to jazz and soul while I was pregnant and it got me through the toughest darkest most painful times in my teenage and adult years. I acquired a record player a few years back and ooooh weee! The crisp sound of every instrument and you can hear every vow in every word sang and every note in every instrument! It flirts with you. It's relaxing! It's mesmerizing! It's connected some how to my innermost being and I need it. I want it. I hear it. It understands me. I was first exposed to jazz... I met [musician name]... The best show I ever attended was... The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners... Or whatever else you have in mind.
