My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...It Speaks to me and Through Me I was first exposed to jazz...When My Dad, the Late Kelly Kappler, started "Keep Jazz Alive, Unlimited" in Chicago and Helped to Manager the Jack Foy Orchestra From Chicago I met Melvin Hayes when at my Sister's Audition, Heather Renee' Kappler-Zito, to then successfully land a vocalist job, for his band, to perform for the M.W.R Air Force in Seoul, Korea. I met Ronnie Wilson (From The G.A.P) In New York and Got a chance to sing with him as he played his acoustic guitar in Niagara Falls. The best show I ever attended was a Celine Dion Concert, at The Chicago United Center, "Let's Talk About Love." The first jazz record I bought was Ray Charles and Jacky Gleason (their Greatest Hits Series) My advice to new listeners is to never judge a musician by his cover and to take in their words in music, deeply. You may become inspired to become musicians or it may be a life changing message for you. Jazz is an art , in music, that runs deeper than any other Genre. It feels with us. Bringing out the best of broken and happy hearts. Jazz remains a shining and creative pathway to the human spirit, while inventing a new form of communication, that truly expresses itself, well to our communities.
