Brazilian - Icelandic Jazz Singer

About Me

“Jussanam was born in Rio de Janeiro and she lived and worked in the Icelandic capital , Reykjavik, from 2008 to 2013 and became Icelandic Citizen in June 2011 by the Icelandic Parliament due her artistic abilities, contribution for Icelandic Cultural life and strong relation with Iceland and its people” In 2013 she moved to Cannes , France where she lived until now. Before becoming a singer, Jussanam was an established actress, performing in a number of Brazilian television dramas and in the Brazilian theater. She also worked dubbing movies, soap operas and animations, contracted by the Herbert Richers Studios for several years before moving to Europe. Her first CD “Ela é Carioca” was produced by herself in Iceland with songs by Tom Jobim and released in 2009 in the Salurinn with support of the Kopavogur city. She has also collaborated with the Icelandic Jazz musician Tómas R. Einarsson and with the Swedish pianist Harald Erici, with whom she performed in “Brasilicum” (Gothenburg, 2009) and at Kalmar Festival 2010-Sweden. Her Nordic Tour 2012 (August/September), approved and supported by the Nordic Culture Fund involved: Sweden (Stockholm and Gothemburg), Denmark (Copenhagen), Norway (Oslo), Finland (Helsinki) and Iceland (Selfoss, Borganes, þorlakshöfn, Höfn) and it was well succeeded. Her second independent CD Rio / Reykjavik came out in 30 th November 2012 in Reykjavik!!! She has been also finalist in some jazz Festivals due her own compositions , as Nice Jazz Festival Contest and Cavalaire Jazz Festival and Porquerolles Jazz Festival. Fascination is her most recent concert, singing songs known by Elis Regina voice.
