I am COMPOSER/PIANIST/TEACHER/AUTHOR in that order.
About Me
I started professional playing since the age of 14 and haven't stopped. I am now 80 years
young and roarin'to go! Born and raised on Staten Island, N.Y. I moved to the Big Apple to
make my name and gain experience; which included stints in the Broadway pits, Radio City
Musical Hall, pianist for Sheila Jordan, Gloria Loring.
Gigs and recordings followed with: JOHN LA PORTA, GEORGE RUSSELL, JOE MANERI, ART
MOONEY, WARREN COVINGTON.
I authored 3 volumes of Jazz Piano Texts that covers,The Blues, Song form and Free form
improvising , 2 on Bill Evans, and one on Dave Brubeck.
Up-coming important premieres of my compositions: THE JAZZ REQUIEM IN MAINZ,
GERMANY ON NOV.17TH, 2012; SONGS WITHOUT WORDS, AT THE ART of HEALING SERIES,
at the JOHNS HOPKINS, WEINBERG CERMONIAL LOBBY, on Dec. 17th, 2012.
