Leeds based saxophonist and composer- The Jack Pearce Quintet

Having studied Jazz Saxophone at Leeds Conservatoire, graduating in 2024, Jack has developed a sound influenced by hard bop, post-bop and the more adventurous side of modern jazz, while drawing on his background in rock and popular music. In 2024, he formed the Jack Pearce Quintet, a Leeds Conservatoire alumni group performing his original compositions and arrangements. Since then, the band has played over 70 gigs together, completed multiple self-funded UK tours and performed at festivals including Leeds Jazz Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. Their debut album, Church Lane, recorded in a 12th-century church in Kirkby Lonsdale, is due for release in October 2026. Alongside leading his own project, Jack has toured extensively across the UK and Europe with Carlisle-based rock band Hardwicke Circus, performing at major festivals and supporting artists including Madness, The Blockheads and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Jack's approach to jazz is rooted in strong melodies, rhythmic energy and improvisation, with a focus on creating music that is engaging, expressive and accessible without losing its adventurous edge.
