I have been in love with jazz all his life. Involved in a jazz club in Utrecht in the late 50's - early 60's, he started organizing tours of American jazz musicians along the Dutch jazz clubs. Recently I had the luck to compile a book with photo's of resting places of famous Jazzmusicians. It has been one of the most rewarding undertakings of my life. Have a look at: JazzLives

The first jazz record I bought was Art Blakey, A Night at Birdland.
My advice to new listeners take your time, there is so much music out there.
