I love jazz because it gives one the freedom to explore, but I love every conceivable style of music and jazz is only one style I have experimented with. I was first exposed to jazz as a teenager after I auditioned at a jazz club in Australia as a blues singer. I met many notable jazz musicians in London in the late 80's, early 90's including the legendary Harry Gold who I was fortunate enough to perform with. The best show I ever attended was Albert Collins in London, who is more of a blues player, but he is one cool cat. The first jazz record I bought was a selection of Billie Holiday. It has been 20 years since I recorded jazz. I found the masters of these early recordings and decided to release them.
