My Jazz Story

I started my musical journey at the age of 5 as a North Indian Classical tabla player. Since that style emphasizes highly on improvisation, I was always fascinated by jazz as well. When I started taking drum lessons with one of the finest jazz drummers in India, Gino Banks, he introduced me to this magical world of jazz. The first album he recommended to me was, Miles Davis's Kind of Blue! That was it! I was blown away by the sound and the musicianship and the interplay between the musicians. Then and there I decided to embark on this journey of pursuing this sound and the world of jazz through my drumming and compositions. It has been a beautiful journey so far exploring the rich history of the art form. I am constantly inspired by my jazz heroes who push the boundaries of what this art form can provide you to express yourslef as an artist and a human bieng!

My House Concert Story

I have performed at multiple jazz house concerts. May it be for an anniversary celebration, a Christmas party or just for a family who appreciates live jazz, it always brings unparalleled intimacy and warmth as a performer. Something about those house concerts is so close to my heart as a performer that it bridges the gap between the performer and the audience in a way that no such other concerts can.
