About Me
My Jazz Story
I've been a musician on the Los Angeles music scene since January 2007. I was first exposed to jazz as a small child. My mother booked bands and she also had a decent collection of records from artists like Art Blakey, Shirley Scott, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, and others. I met the great trumpeter and jazz educator Clark Terry in 1984 when he conducted and played with my high school band at the Tri-C Jazz Festival. The first jazz record I ever bought was Word of Mouth, by Jaco Pastorious.
