Daniel Deaguero

Daniel DeAguero, smooth jazz guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer, is best known for his unique blend of fluid guitar solos and Latin rhythms.

About Me

Over the years, Daniel's unique style has been widely praised by the critics. That praise has placed him in that rare class of musicians whose versatility transcends categories and spans multiple genres. Daniel's music extends past regional and national boundaries from the US to 5 continents with airplay on Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Latin Jazz, Adult Contemporary, Spanish, Mexican and Country radio. Daniel is a self-taught musician. Growing up in a rural area near Santa Fe, NM, Daniel developed a love for many musical genres. In the mid 60’s Daniel was a member of a teenage gospel group, the Chordsmen, that toured throughout the southwestern United States. In the 70’s Daniel recorded several gospel singles and inspired by Earl Klugh’s “Magic In Your Eyes” album, developed a love of Jazz. In the 80’s Daniel moved to Colorado and released two Latin Pop albums, “Amor” and “Vuelveme a Querer”. In the 90’s, Daniel released his final Latin Pop CD, “Lo Sabes” which received Billboard Magazine’s Critic’s Choice award as John Lannert wrote… “A passionate guitarist with an appealing feather-soft baritone, DeAguero purveys a smart brand of jazz-tinged Latino pop suitable for progressive Spanish pop stations as well asl open-minded US AC outlets. Leisurely paced title track – Lo Sabes – is a pleasant, straight-up, pop ballad duet with Ashleight Metcalf Jordan…” In the mid 90’s Daniel paid tribute to his New Mexico roots with a bilingual collection of traditional Rancheras and Country tunes called “Te Lo Prometo”. In latter half of the 90’s Daniel formed jazz band, Return to Zero and recorded their “Absolute Zero” album. In the late 90’s Daniel released his first Jazz CD, “Night Groove”, which is an eclectic collection of Free/Avant Garde, Latin Jazz and Contemporary Jazz tunes. The new millinium brought a primarily Latin Jazz release, “Airborne”, followed by a Contemporary Jazz collection called “Colorado Sunset” in 2001. In 2009, Daniel released a his second Contemporary Jazz collection called “Can You Feel It?.” Several tracks on the “Can You Feel It?” CD have enjoyed airplay and sales on five continents. In addition to producing his own music, Daniel has written and produced a number of projects for other indie artists and collaborated with a number of major-label artists including Richard Kremode (Santana), Arcelio Garcia (MALO), Jock Bartley (Firefall), Dwight Beaumont (Flash Cadillac), Dave Innis (Restless Heart) and Musician’s Hall of Fame member, Louie Shelton. Daniel has also produced music, commercials and jingles for Muzak and numerous radio stations. Daniel is currently in the studio, writing selections for his next CD, due out in the summer of 2012. This project will be a departure from his instrumental collections with mainstream jazz selections and vocals.
