About Me
Bruce Klauber is the biographer of jazz drumming legends Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich in books and
Warner Brothers films, served as Technical Advisor on the film Whiplash, and has been a working jazz
drummer and vocalist since childhood.
As a drummer, I've worked with Charlie Ventura, Al Grey, Erskine Hawkins, Milt Buckner, John Bunch,
Marty Napoleon, Pepper Adams, Buster Cooper, Joanie Sommers, Buddy Greco, Peggy King, and various
others. I was the co-founder of the Philadelphia-based All-Star Jazz Trio, an ensemble that performed in
the Philadelphia area for more than five decades. On the recording front, releases include Sleight of
Hand, with Jimmy Bruno, and a series of acclaimed projects for the DBK Jazz Label. Vocally, my Swings
Sinatra singing show has played, with considerable success, at World Cafe' Live, Chris' Jazz Cafe', Paris
Bistro, Paris Wine Bar, Kelly Center for the Arts
As a writer/editor, I've contributed to Down Beat magazine, Modern Drummer magazine, Atlantic City
magazine, the Trentonian, Jazz Times, Naples Daily News, Film BULLETIN, Video Insider, the National
News Bureau, Drummer newspaper, and many others.
As a publicist and concert producer, I served as the Public Relations Director of Jazz Bridge for five years,
and have produced shows starring Eddie Bruce, and the granddaughter of Frank SInatra, AJ Lambert.
As a record producer, I've produced several reissues and historic discoveries for the Jasmine, Dot Time
and Fresh Sound record labels.
