Bob Levy is a multi award winning ASCAP songwriter and member of the National (Grammy) Recording Academy.
BOB LEVY is a multi-award-winning ASCAP songwriter. He started in New York City co-writing with the late singer-songwriter Ronny Whyte. Bob is an 15 time MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Award nominee. His collaboration with singer/songwriter Karen Jacobsen, “THIS TIME” was a 2009 MAC nominee for song of the year. Bob also collaborates with multi-talented New York composer, arranger and musical director, Alex Rybeck and their song, “HE REMEMBERS, SHE REMEMBERS”, recorded by Joyce Breach, was a 2014 MAC nominee for best song. Nicolas King's recording of their song “BEST AS I CAN” was a 2019 MAC nominee as well and winner for song of the year. “LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE IN LOVE”, also recorded by Nicolas King was a 2020 MAC nominee for song of the year and also won. His collaboration with Tracy Stark, “YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN KIND” was nominated in 2023 and won for Best Song. His jazz CD “EVER SINCE WE MET” was nominated and won for Best Album (The LaMott Friedman Award) in 2024. His album “ALL ABOUT LOVE: The Dane Vannatter Recordings Vol. II” was nominated in 2025. His CD, “THE BEST OF THE DANE VANNATTER RECORDINGS” was released in 2025. Also in 2025 LIVE, LOVE & LAUGH: The Ronny Whyte Collaborations which was nominated for a MAC Award in 2026 as well as the song IT’S ALWAYS TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE, his jazz collaboration with Drew Paralic which was nominated for best song. Bob also collaborated in NYC with Jon Burr, Drew Paralic, Paul Rolnick, Tom Toce and the late Tex Arnold. In Boston, he collaborates with songwriter Harriet Goldberg as well as Krisanthi Pappas and Dennis Livingston. Their song “DANGEROUS WOMEN” was performed in Australia at The 2013 Fringe Festival by theater performers Anne Millar and Sonni Byrne. Bob Levy's song “PARIS WITHOUT YOU” was featured in the 2010 Touchstone film, “YOU AGAIN” that starred Betty White. It was selected by ASCAP for their EMERGING JAZZ WRITERS radio broadcast series. ”PARIS WITHOUT YOU” His songs have also been heard on TV in 'Lethal Weapon', 'Wet Hot American Summer', 'Quantico', 'Girlfriends' Guide', 'Saving Grace', 'The Glades', 'Hung' and 'Greek'. His song, “LOOK AT WHAT LOVE'S DONE TO ME” was prominently featured in the 2017 Canadian movie, 'Bruno & Boots'. His song, “ON THIS SPECIAL NIGHT” was featured on Star Trek on Paramount +. In 2024 Bob’s song “I’ve Got You To Love” was featured on the hit series “ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING”. Songs from Bob’s Jazz albums have been featured on Buenos Aires, Argentina’s FM Jazz Radio, Ruiz 91.7, Pandora Radio and other various Jazz radio stations in the United States and throughout Europe. Bob Levy has released 19 CD's of his original songs and collaborations: “Out In the Cold” in 2006, “Me & My Best Friends” in 2008, “Fire In My Soul” in 2009, “Off His High Horse” in 2010, “A Little Bit More” in 2011, ”Connections” in 2015, “Lost For Words” in 2018, “Love Could Pass Us By” in early 2018, “Only A Matter of Time” released at the end of 2018 (a 2019 MAC nominated album), as well as his CD “WHY WAIT?”, released in 2019 (a 2020 MAC nominated album). “WHILE I'M STILL HERE” was released in December 2021 (a 2022 MAC nominated album). His new instrumental jazz CD, “ROMANTIC COOL JAZZ GETAWAY” was released in 2022. In 2023 he released “EVER SINCE WE MET: The Dane Vannatter Recordings” which was his 12th. MAC Nomination and 1st. win for Best Album in 2024. He has since been nominated for 3 additional 2025 MAC Awards. (Song: ABOUT LOVE, Specialty song: SHE LIKES ME (co-written with Tom Toce) and Best album: ALL ABOUT LOVE: The Dane Vannatter Recordings Vol. II. In 2025 Bob released a ‘Deluxe Edition” of ALL ABOUT LOVE that includes three new tracks and “THE BEST OF THE DANE VANNATTER RECORDINGS” in 2025 as well. “LIVE, LOVE & LAUGH: THE RONNY WHYTE COLLABORATIONS” & “SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TUNE: DELUXE EDITION: THE DREW PARALIC COLLABORATIONS”. Bob is currently working on his 20th album, “ THE MOMENT I SAW YOU”. His songs are now being performed throughout the US, Canada, the UK, Italy, Greece and Japan. Bob Levy is a member of the National (Grammy) Recording Academy, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) in New York, as well as the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC).
