Ben Lupinacci

About Me

Ben Lupinacci was born in Holyoke, Mass., in 1991, and started playing trombone in the fifth grade. He moved to Pennsylvania in 2003, where he continued to practice trombone. Although always serious about his music, Ben soon came to recognize his passion for his art and came to the realization that he had a career ahead of him by his sophomore year at Pennsbury High School, a district with one of the top high school music programs in the nation.

At Pennsbury, he was a member of the nationally recognized Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band, where he was first trombone his junior and senior years. He was a two-year member of the Pennsbury Jazz Lab Band, and played in the high school marching band for four years. He has received numerous scholarships and awards at the high school and collegiate levels. Ben has had the honor and privilege of studying with Luis Bonilla, Fred Scott and John Fedchock.

He matriculated at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance in 2009 and is studying Jazz Performance under the direction of Terrell Stafford and John Fedchock. In addition to playing for the Temple University Big Band, where Ben has been first trombone his freshman and sophomore years, he also has performed with other bands at numerous gigs, including Jimmy George and the Latin Express and the Midnight Sun Jazz Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys studying and practicing a variety of genres of music such as classical, jazz and funk.

Ben continues to practice daily to further his talent as a musician.
