About Me
Influenced at an early age in jazz by father, Bobby Hutcherson, Barry was
exposed to great jazz musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Tony
Williams, Ron Carter, Jackie Mclean, Lennie White, George Cables, Joe Sample
and many others.
Barry has studied with drummers such as Eddie Marshall, Billy Higgins, Joey
Heredia, Willy Jones III, Steve Houghton and others.
He took up drums at age 13 and has been playing gigs since the early 1980's with
notable musicians like Bobby Hutcherson, Joey DeFrancesco, George Cables, Roy
Hargrove, Billy Childs, Joshua Redman, Warren Wolf and many others.
Barry has performed at many different venues such as Yoshi's, the Monterey Jazz
Festival, Stanford University Concert Hall, SF Jazz Center, Kuumbwa Jazz Center
in Santa Cruz and the Baked Potato in Los Angeles.
