About Me

I am currently studying music at Oberlin conservatory in Ohio, and have been active in both the jazz and new music/free-improvisation scenes there. I am a member of the quartet Jules Verne which emphasizes the idea that jazz is truly a progressive and experimental music. We perform classic jazz songs, the music of contemporary innovators like Ornette Coleman, American folk-songs and our own original compositions.

I think that this is a very exciting time to be a musician. we now have access to a limitless amount of music from all parts of the world, giving us an infinite source of inspiration. Also, the music business is changing. The old models will not function in the coming century. It is up to this generation of artists to create the environment that we want to live and perform in. I am so thrilled to take part in this process.
