Yola Wesolowska&Stan Michalak
About Me
YOLA WESOLOWSKA - composer, singer, pianist, performer .
She studied music at the University of Lodz, from which she graduated in 1980.
Master's thesis written under the guidance of the great Polish music theorist Prof.
Franciszek Wesolowski. She studied composition with prof. Bernard Pietrzak and
classical singing with prof. Izabela Kobus. She completed postgraduate studies at
the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
Participation in competitions, festivals and concerts in Poland and abroad incl.
Jazztoldtales Festival in Bologna, B. Okudzhava Festival in Moscow, Weimarrer
Dreieck in Germany to name a few.
As a composer collaborates with theatres incl. the Studio Theatre in Warsaw, the
New Theatre in Lodz, Rampa Theatre in Warsaw, the Grotowski Centre in
Wroclaw.
The composition and a performance of vocal music for the exhibition and a
documentary film about great Polish poet Tadeusz Rozewicz

In 2015 she realized the play Fun enjoyable and useful Continued ..... inspired
by the work of T. Różewicz and photos by J. Stankiewicz.
In 2016, in cooperation with European Capitol of Culture in Wroclaw 2016 she
implemented a unique project Sound of ecology....”
In 2016 participated in 10 Polish Arts Festival in Limerick (Ireland). During the
festival, she conducted workshops VOICE Project Encounters ended the show on a
stage.
Workshops and consultations :
Workshop voice therapy, creative rhythm workshop, techniques to handle stress
and stage fright, creative voice workshop , creative techniques of self-
presentation, speech and body communication.
Group and individual training vocal with various client groups

STAN MICHALAK-
Contrabass, arabic lute (oud), dilruba. Stan's musical roots are deep in the traditions of
European classical music, jazz music and other forms and styles of creative
improvisation.
Received a scholarship of Alban Berg Fundation in Vienna. He participated in
various music and theater projects, sharing the stage with such artists Eartha
Kitt, Roedelius, Herb Geller, Oliver Johnson, Kosta Lucacs, Billy Bang, Jocelyn
B.Smith, Souleymane Toure, Daryl Waters, Abdu Salim, Jean Paul Bourelly, Omar
