About Me

Sarpay "SharpEye" Özçağatay is a Berklee College of Music private flute instructor, and an author that is among the leading international flute artists of the recent years that has signed numerous achievements. He released his debut album “Unexpectable” in 2013 (produced by him) that has his own original compositions. It is recognized and reviewed by the leading jazz critics, blogs, jazz radios including the international and online stations, newspapers and flute magazines. He continued his accomplishments and created his “SharpEye” logo/brand that has got an attention by the British flute maker Trevor James Flutes. The company made a “SharpEye” signature alto flute for him. As well as being an alto flute artist of TJ Flutes, he is also a flute artist at Japanese flute maker, Miyazawa Flutes. He is also endorsed by Applied Microphone and Ton Kooiman. He recently published three flute method book series for jazz and classical players titled, UNLOCK(Vol.I, II & III) . It is available for purchase on Amazon (Click Here) He has been performing countless concerts at the prestigious jazz and music venues, also performing at music/jazz festivals with Grammy Award winning artists and internationally acclaimed musicians from all over the world. He is also a recording artist and has been recording many albums as a leader and a sideman. He is serving as a jazz chair at the largest flute association, NFA (National Flute Association) as well as being a voting member of Recording Academy(Grammy's). As an educator, he has been giving clinics and workshops for many years.
