Daniel Nissenbaum is an acclaimed trumpet player and composer.

About Me

Daniel Nissenbaum is a professional trumpet player, composer and film scorer. He currently lives on the East Coast.

Daniel began playing professionally at the age of 15, with various jazz and pop groups in and around Philadelphia and Camden. Higher profile events included performances with Ahmad Jamal, Mccoy Tyner, Donald Byrd, and Valery Ponomerev. He attended Berklee College of Music, where he graduated in 2007 with a Degree in Brass Performance. He has also had the fortune to play with such greats as Marcus Miller and Terence Blanchard while in attendance.

He returned to Philadelphia in the spring of 2008 and has since established a local studio for teaching in addition to a large volume of work as a professional trumpet player, recording artist and composer.

Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Music from UArts in 2015, Daniel has worked as a film composer and sound designer for Chicken and Egg Productions, a documentary film production company based in New York, in addition to freelance work for Nickelodeon. He has written scores for numerous independent projects including animations, short documentary films and commercials. He has just signed on to work on the feature-length documentary “Cooked”, a film about the deadly heat wave in Chicago in 1995.

Currently, he is working as Director of Sales for New West Studios, a music composition facility in Los Angeles. Additionally, he composes for Velvet Green Music, another L.A. based music production library.

His work with Chicken and Egg Productions has been featured on IndieWire.

He has been performing and/or recording with The Disco Biscuits, Stevie Van Zandt and The Disciples of Soul, Darlene Love, Eddie Manion and The Billy Walton Band. He was a featured soloist and horn section member on Little Steven’s new album, “Soulfire” (2017).

He has also just released his first solo jazz album, “Bismuth”, available on all common digital outlets (iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, etc.).

Daniel has performed throughout the continental United States, Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East.

Daniel is currently a member of ASCAP.
