About Me

I was born in Minneapolis in ‘97 and loved music from the get-go. I learned the drums in the fifth grade and started playing and writing jazz in high school after falling in love with Coltrane, Monk and Dolphy. I performed in various bands and combos including a group called the Dakota Combo under the direction of bassist Adam Linz and my own punk-jazz quartet Halcyon Daze. Nowadays I spend much of my time in Boston studying filmmaking at Emerson College but I certainly haven’t forgotten about music. I listen to a lot of Paul Motian, Elvin Jones, and Ronald Shannon Jackson to remind myself that the drums still have my heart. I also like to listen to The Lounge Lizards, Keith Jarrett, Albert Ayler and the rest of the world’s creative weirdos. When I’m not listening to music I spend time watching movies, reading, hanging out with my dog, and learning about the ocean.

My Favorites

  1. The Lounge Lizards - Voice of Chunk
  2. Chris Lightcap's Bigmouth - Deluxe
  3. Bill Bruford's Earthworks - All Heaven Broke Loose
  4. Louis Moholo-Moholo Octet - Spirits Rejoice!
  5. Naná Vasconcelos - Saudades
